Launch of the ballon!

On October 4, 2024, we successfully launched our module containing cyanobacteria into the stratosphere!

It’s been a long journey from the initial concept to this moment, and we are filled with gratitude, pride, and excitement to be part of the BEXUS 34 mission at Esrange.

A quick recap: Our experiment focuses on oxygen production for space missions using cyanobacteria. We’ve been studying how these bacteria behave in the stratosphere. Cyanobacteria are known for their ability to produce oxygen and their resilience, making them a promising candidate for a range of biological applications in space exploration.

Today, we measured the oxygen production and are now in the process of analyzing the results.
